About Us
My slightly fanatical love of music started from a very young age; I started mixing in my bedroom from the age of 12 and had my first residency at a local club at 14.
I play the drums and have been in a number of bands over the years, if I’m not listening to music or mixing music, I’m playing music!
I started to specialise as a wedding DJ around 6 years ago and together with my business partner Will.
We’re on a mission to banish the misconception that all wedding DJs are quite frankly, terrible – you know the sort – decked out in a shiny, ill-fitting suit, talking over naff old top 40 hits in a gameshow-host voice whilst trying unsuccessfully to get everyone to do the Conga!!! ARGHHHH!
I share your fear and can promise you that is NOT what Sound Solutions Wedding DJs are about.
We genuinely love what we do, we love working with couples and helping to make their wedding day everything they hoped it would be.
The Need To Know about Matt:
- Aside from music the other great love of my life is my 1968 V8 Mustang
- I still take my mum Christmas shopping every year.
- I do love a choreographed First Dance!
When The Ashes first opened after a complete restoration, they held an open day where the locals could go and have look around. I went with my (then) girlfriend and got chatting to the owners Ben and Sarah Reeves, I handed them our Sound Solutions business card and that turned out to be the start of an awesome working relationship.
(Incidentally, the girlfriend subsequently got married at The Ashes, just not to me!)
I love working at The Ashes, it has such an incredible atmosphere and it’s rare if the dancefloor isn’t packed after just a few opening notes!
The Need To Know about Will:
Life would be easier with a small dog but I absolutely love The Dogue de Bordeaux or Bordeaux Mastiff, a large French Mastiff breed – you know, the one from ‘Turner and Hooch’. My current pooch is called _________ and yes she drools a little bit and weighs in at 8 stone but I love her all the same!
